Acreage (2011) was made especially for the Lo-Fi Festival at Smoke Farm, a 360 acre former dairy farm in a serene river valley situated outside Arlington, north of Seattle, WA. Smoke Farm focuses on supporting art, science, and philosophy through creative engagement and community work.
The theme of the Lo-Fi festival in 2011 was Not to Scale. Though this audio recording was made for Smoke Farn, to be listened to walking in the grounds there, it plays with overlaying aspects of Long Acre, Covent Garden, London and the Devil’s Acre (a 19th century slum near Westminster) onto the rural farm land.
Keeping with the theme of Lo-Fi, it is just voice, no sound (as in the other First Person Theatre pieces). If you want to hear the recording, email me and I will email you an invitation to join the dropbox file. I’m on a very lo-fi web set-up at the moment!
