This practical workshop will support your pregnancy through encouraging individual exploration and playful movement. It is informed by somatic movement education, dance improvisation and yoga (positions or asana, energy work or pranayama, hand gestures or mudra, energy centres or chakra and chanting or mantra). You will be guided through a mix of sitting and standing postures for strength and flexibility, pelvic floor exercises, breathing techniques, visualisations, free movement, and relaxation.
I will faciliate variations of how to get in and out of the floor, use of props, chairs, balls and walls. Somatic movement emphasises process, inner sensing and making choices that work for your body in that moment, rather than copying a position.
This workshop is for pregnant people from 12 weeks onwards. No experience of yoga needed. All questions welcome.
The workshop will comprise of experiential yoga classes, and exploration sessions on safe practice and following your intuition. There will be opportunities for questions and to connect with others.
